City Governement of Davao, announced that the Kadayawan highlight would be on the 24th of August. This will make August 20 to 26 the highlight week, as well as the "most-lively week" for this year’s celebration of Kadayawan Festival. About 30,000 people are expected during the festival . Kadayawan Festival is also known as " The King of Festivals".

Here are the activities during the week of August 20 to 26, 2012:
- Floral Float Parade – traditional pageant of orchids and other flowers. Thousands of colorful flowers are formed into different shapes that the creator prefers. This is one of the most-watched event in the annual festival.
- Indak-Indakan Sa Kadalanan – aka “Dancing in the Streets”. This is a display of bright and dazzling colors of groups of people (communities, organizations, schools, or group of friends) as they perform different tribal dances on the streets. This is also a much-awaited event during Kadayawan festival.
- Hiyas sa Kadayawan – is a beauty pageant that showcase the stunningly gorgeous ladies of the different tribes of Davao.
- Exhibits and Trade Fairs
- Nightly Street Parties
- Cultural Performances
- Sporting Events and Fun Competitions
- Concerts

Ako ay tubong taga Davao dito na ako lumaki at nag ka asawa... Kung ako ay papipiliin kung anong lugar ang dapat kung puntahan, mas mamarapatin ko pang sa DAVAO pa rin ako pabor... Napakasaya ang KADAYAWAN sa DAVAO napakaraming prutas like Durian, Mangosteen, Lanzones , Marang ,at Rambutan at iba pa... At hindi lang po yan napakaganda din po nang mga Bulaklak dito katulad ng Orchids... TARA na po sa DAVAO ..Let's explore the beauty of its nature of DAVAO CITY...

ReplyDeleteKadayaw dayaw talaga ang KADAYAWAN Festival :) tubong Sout Cotabato naman ako at may mga kamag anak dyan sa Davao. Once ko naexperience ang kadayawan at sobrang napakasaya talaga. Naalala ko pa nga eh muntik pa ko mawala nun that was 2011,nalibang kasi ako kakalakad nakalimutan ko na may kasama pala ako haha! That was a memorable moment for me and hope to visit again Davao soon. Thank you for sharing this blog.
