Aerial View of Puerto Princesa from Above
This was my first time here in this province, also known as " The City of Paradise". It was a cloudy yet amazing day for two of us. I saw a lot of island & mountains around the city of Puerto Princesa, the capital of Palawan Province. You can't leave the city without navigating or touring the city's various tourist attractions. One of the main attractions is the Puerto Princesa Underground River which is known to be the Seven Wonders of Nature in the World. Follow me to my awesome trip here in Palawan & beyond.

My Favorite Sili Ice Cream of 1st Colonial Grill in Legaspi City
The haven of Bicolano cuisines & desserts where eating is "More Than Just an Experience". One of the popular restaurant around the Province of Albay, you must try there unique-flavored ice cream better than some ice in Metro Manila I've tasted & very reasonably priced. I decided to try the sili, maluggay & calamansi ice cream. This is definitely better than unusual flavored brand of ice cream. They have a good service , clean facilities, friendly staff and affordable prices. First Colonial Grill has also a several best seller original dishes like Tinapa Rice, Ensaladang Talong with a twist & other yummy owned version of ice cream. A must try for when you are in Bicol region, whether you are a sweet tooth or not. I guarantee you will make your trip a happy tummy and more than unusual food trip.
A Night Walk at Embarcadero De Legaspi in Albay
The Embarcadero in Legaspi City, Albay is a good place to have your lunch or dinner with a side view of the Mayon Volcano & City Seaport or Bay Seaside Boulevard. It has also a searchlight on top of a colorful lighthouse. It is small mall in the heart of the city and I think the only store people visit there is Puregold inside the mall. There also an entertainment bars, restaurants & boutiques. A very safe place to visit and really enjoy every single moment with your friends & family. It's also a good venue to hold different events.
There is a budget hotel located on the topmost floor of the mall. For me it's not really a place to do stuff but rather to just let nature settle in without the noise of the city or do a sunset watching over the backdrop of Mayon Volcano and a breezy experience.

Exploring the Busay Falls in Malilipot, Albay
I heard this Busay Falls from word of mouth with a local in Legaspi City. So I decided to explore this hidden beauty of the Albay. It's about 40 minutes jeepney ride from the city proper of Legaspi in Albay and another 10-15 minutes tricycle ride from the main road. After a short hike from the entrance, you can see a pool shaped catching all the cascading falls and the place is surrounded by lush greenery. It is worth all the effort beacuse the water is clean and very refreshing ambiance especially at the plunge cold pool where the water exactly fall. I can't able to see the second falls because lack of time where you can reached by walking uphill. You can hire a guide here to help you get to the other falls.

Trick Photos Capturing in Cagsawa Ruins in Albay
One is able to walk around without having to hire a tour guide to enjoy the scenery because of the accessibility of the place from Daraga or Legaspi City. After having my quick breakefast at the nearby restaurants, I ask a lady to take me trick photos over the Cagsawa Ruins & backdrop of Mayon Volcano who are experts in taking awesome trick shots. They will tell you where to put your arms, legs, fingers etc to have there great pictures. Anyway, it's not a hard time taking photos with me and gave her a tip. One of my favorite trick shot is the appearance as giant against the people at the side. You must be creative in taking pictures. I'm happy to go back in the hotel with great pictures.
On my next blog post, check out on How to get there & other things to do when in Albay. Your visit in Albay wont be complete if you not come here.
We Meet Again | Fascinating Cagsawa Ruins in Albay
Mayon Volcano is still awesome! This was my second time to see the Cagsawa Ruins Park , Barangay Busay, Cagsawa, Daraga, Albay. I took again a jeepney from Daraga going to the highway leading to the park. Entrance fee is cost you Php 10 to be collected at the gate. It's nice to have photos with the backdrop of the ruins and the beauty of the cone shaped Mayon Volcano at the back. It is also the site of the Cagsawa Branch of the National Museum of the Philippines. This museum contains a lot of photographs of the volcanic eruptions of Mount Mayon as well as other geological and archaeological exhibits located at the left side of the park where restaurants & souvenir shops is located.
Please take note that there are also comfort rooms inside the park. After visiting the ruins, you can have your souvenirs items done, Make sure to grab one of those items selling inside & outside the park. There are stores also selling refreshments and snacks.
The Best Architecture & View of Mayon Volcano at Daraga Church in Albay
Before heading to Cagsawa Ruins, I had a quick tour around Daraga in Albay. I took a jeepney from Lignon Hill Nature Park, travel time is 15-20 minutes. Also known as "Our Lady of the Gate Parish". This church is located at the top of a hill, a good venue for taking photos of Mayon Volcano. You need to walk around 5-10 minutes ut to see this church. It's looks like you are living in the past because of the white painted facade & nice unique architecture with a slight renovation though destroy the ambiance. Go inside the church and check out the statues because the place is more serene and nice architecture carvings on the walls. The church is a remain off the Spanish colonial time.
Travel tips: Try to come early to see the Mayon Volcano without the thick cloud cover. Did you know, it was a very interesting story of how the Daraga was built this church to replace the Cagsawa church after it's devastation of the volcano.
Zipline in Albay Over Mayon Volcano View
I went up to Lignon Hill Nature Park to check out attractions & one of those is the zipline with a nice backdrop view of Mayon Volcano, located at Legaspi City Albay near Legaspi Airport.Around 156 meter-high. Zipline charge fee is Php 250 per head. It's getting in the way you take good pictures. This is also one of the most famous landmarks in Bicol Region both local & international tourist. Entrance Fee here is Php 20 for locals and Php 25 for foreigners. Opens from 8:00AM to 11:00PM daily. I really enjoyed the view of Mayon Volcano & very relaxing ambiance & cool wind. This nature park is such a charm for those who wants the best views over the city of Legaspi & nearby municipalities in Albay.
It also offers a lot of different activities such as ATV ( All Terrain Vehicle Tours) at the foot of Mayon Volcano, Hanging Bridge, Paint Ball, Rappelling & more existing games to come. Private vehicles can also drive up to the park area with a minimal parking fee. The best time to visit would be in the morning, as long as the sun wont burn you.

The Best View of Mayon Volcano | Lignon Hill Nature Park
One of the best place to get a nice view of Mayon Volcano and you can also have a spectacular views of the city, Daraga, Albay Gulf or Legaspi Airport. The park offers a lot of different activities such as zipline, ATV ( All Terrain Vehicle Tours), rappelling, paintball and it is also a good place to hike or jog. Entrance fee here is Php 20 pesos and Php 25 for foreigners. This park is located up hill so climbing here is quite tiring but you can also ride a tricycle. I really enjoyed staying here because of the relaxing cool wind. Best time to visit the place would be during the early morning around 6:00am to 8:00am as long as the sun won't burn you. There also have souvenir shops and eatery in case you'll get hungry.
How to get there:
You can take a jeepney from Legaspi City or Albay that going in the direction of Daraga 2nd Loop and ask the driver to stop at Lignon Hill Entrance Gate. Fare is Php 10 per passenger. Then from the main road take a 3-5 minutes walk to the gate entrance of the park.
Albay's Japanese World War II Tunnel in Lignon Hills
This old Japanese Tunnel is an L-shaped tunnel used during the World War II and formerly used by the Japanese Imperial Army. Located at the foot of Lignon Hill Adventure & Nature Park. I also assisted by ate and took all my photos inside. One of the unique tourist attraction in the city because of the soldier size manikin, material used before & equipment were Japanese brought in time and remains of the place is an excellent & interesting place to visit. This would the next tourist attraction in the Province of Albay. I saw this tunnel before in the famous channel in TV5's Amazing Race Philippines were the contestant entered to this area to get the clue.
Legaspi City | Albay Park & Wildlife
A must see tourist attraction in Legaspi City Albay if you're with your kids and family. Kids can play around will surely love the park, the giant slides and swing or probably try biking within the vicinity just ask for assistance near the main gate. There are a lot of animals in the area like monkeys, owls, birds, crocodiles, turtles, bear cat, snakes, ostrich and fishes. They also have a lot of varieties of herbs and flowers where you can just point your lenses and a good place to practice your photographic skills. Yes its cheap with the entrance fee of Php 10 and the place is clean and well-maintained but car parking is not allowed inside. About 10-15 minutes away from Lignon Hills and this is a good place to bring your family or barkada for bonding. If you want to get away from the busy street of Legaspi and enjoy the outdoors then this is the right place to go.
One Great Food at Biggs Diner - Legaspi City
Before heading to top tourist attraction in the Province of Albay, I had a great little U.S full lunch diner meals are as you would expect and I went to the nearest branch from my hotel inn. I totally love this place because the food is yummy and affordable, not your ordinary fast food chain. Don't forget to try their chocolate cake, red ice tea & baby back ribs with java rice & side dish. There's a lot of food choices here and the food is patterned from an American eateries. The decor is typical of an American-type diner as well. Must drop by this long time local favorite of all people in Bicol Region. So far, the service is excellent because they treated me nice and even offered to take some of my shots and I was planning to have baby ribs next time.

Fascinating Facade of Sorsogon Provincial Capitol

Rock Formation at Paguriran Island Lagoon in Sorsogon
The small island lagoon is amazing. One of the best lagoon I've been to with such a very laid back place, powdery white underneath shallow water and gigantic rock formation around the island lagoon. You can walk to cross the beach area going to this lagoon and no need to worry for those who are afraid to swim. During the low tide, the water does not even go past your waist. I also recommend some spot at the other side of the lagoon and you'll see clear waters of the ocean, deep cliff diving at the back, a small caves and the majestic view of Mount Mayon. The Paguriran Island Lagoon is a hidden paradise and just want to unwind because this place is not too crowded.

How to Get to Paguriran Island Beach Resort in Sorsogon
Going to Paguriran Island White Beach Resort in Sorsogon:
Located at Barangay Sawanga, Province of Sorsogon. Those are very good why a 14-hour road trip from Manila to Sorsogon will be worth the travel. Take a bus bound to Sorsogon City, ask for the jeeps going to Baron or Sawangan and ask to be dropped off in Paguriran Island Beach Resort. The first trip from Savemore in Sorsogon City is around 5:00am while the last trip from Paguriran to Sorsogon City is at 3:00pm. Its an hour and a half travel time and fare costs is Php 44 per passenger per way. You can also take a 1 hour plane ride to Legaspi City in Albay via Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines. From Legaspi City Bus Terminal, you can take bus or van going to Sorsogon City. Travel time - 1 hour. Here's my travel tips.

3. Try cliff jumping at the lagoon or get your selfie with you.

Breathtaking View of Paguriran White Beach Resort in Sorsogon
It was my first time to visit the province of Sorsogon. I arrived at 1pm here then I took a rest in awhile and eat my lunch at the nearby carinderia (mini restaurant). The place is so laid back, calm waters, powdery white sand underneath shallow waters, a beautiful island lagoon at the center. There are no fancy resorts within the vicinity which really preserves the beauty of the place. This should be maintained by the local government and develop roads going there. I like the fact you can enjoy the low tide and high tide without worries and worth to visit again. The beach hut are all for rent ranging Php 250-1000 depending on the size. You can also enjoy an overnight stay in this safe place with it's hospitable local people. They offered basic accommodations with air conditioning and shared bathroom.

Hidden Treasure in Barcelona Ruins of Presidencia Old Stone Building
In front the church of Saint Joseph Parish is the old ruin building structure associated with the century long ago facing the Pacific Ocean and Gubat Bay. It also had a tunnel leading to the church of Barcelona ( Saint Joseph Parish Church) across the street but was closed during my visit and a nice seawall where someone could enjoy and relax in a while. This area are serves as children's playground and local's park & recreational activities. As posted at the place where the ruins located " This old building ruins , over One Hundred Thirty Eight (138) years old was practically made of stone, sea corals and lime, simultaneously constructed with the " La Presidencia" in 1874 during the Spanish period. The building was originally intended as a school building for the children of the " ilustrados" or the wealthy Spanish conquistadores and very few Filipinos with Spanish heritage and connections. During the old Spanish colonial, the poor and common Filipino folks or the " Indios" were not allowed and accepted in this school before. " From the town of Barcelona, I opted jeepney going to the town of Gubat - a jump off point going to Paguiraran Island Beach & Rock Lagoon.
Barcelona in Sorsogon: Old Church Saint Joseph Parish
Next Stop: Commonly known as Barcelona Church in Barcelona, Sorsogon. About 30 minutes away from Bulusan Lake Nature Park. The church was preserved from years ago and well-maintained with it's uniqueness & historical colonial inspired architecture. I rode a jeepney from the highway of Bulusan Lake Nature Park, you just got to love the ambiance along the countryside of the province. When traveling within the whole towns of Sorsogon, most efficient and accessible way to travel is by tricycle and jeepney (one of their common public transportation). For religious folks, the place is real solemn with the great interior design inside the church and the walls are made of coral stones which are part of the original structure. It is very picturesque fascade and the church is so charming & fascinating old colonial structure. I'am probably recommend this place to visit where you can include in your itinerary. I really love to see old churches in the Philippines that are still alive.

Kayaking at Bulusan Lake Nature Park & Resort in Sorsogon Province
This province in the Phillipines is not one of the list for everyone's must-visit place. There is so many unspoiled beaches, old churches & rivers or lakes and one of those is the Bulusan Lake which belongs to Bulusan Volcano & Mountain which is located at the southern most part Luzon. The lake is green because of the reflection of many trees surrounding it. It was an awesome trip around the lake is very calming and relaxing ambiance. Rental for kayak is Php 200 pesos per hour Also, you can do paddling and canoes where guests can rent to tour approximately 27 hectare lake. There are plenty of interesting flora and fauna that can be observed in the whole area and can encountered several species of wild birds, butterfly or even snakes probably because of the lake's rich natural resources and well-preserved animals & plants as well. No worries about the long stay here because there are a lot of accommodations in Irosin. There are many other places to explore in the Province of Sorsogon. Check out my blog post soon.

The Adventurous Trek at Bulusan Lake Nature Park in Sorsogon
It was a great day for me just trekking towards the way going to the main crater of the lake which I did not expect to see such a serene like this & a wonderful place to unwind. Whether you are a thrill seeker, nature lover or simply looking for a quiet place to relax and collect memory by yourself. But remember not to swim in the water for you will not know what is under because the water is green and full of algae. You can also do hike up in the mountain if you like to see the whole view of the lake. I also admire how the place is being conserved and protected by the government of Sorsogon that can experience by both locals & tourists. You can rent boats to roamed around the lake, kayaking and tripaddling as I call it. They also have gazebo and shed cottages within the area where you can have your lunch or snack. So be prepared for the beauty that nature has to offer and I'am highly recommend to local and international tourists because the place is worthy coming back and forth.
Sorsogon: Bulusan Crystal Spring Resort And Farm
It's a quick lay-over at Bulusan Crystal Spring Resort & Farm located beside the main gate of Bulucan Volcano Nature Park, National Highway, Barangay San Roque, Bulusan, Sorsogon Province. The water of the swimming pools contain mineral water from Bulusan mountains with a great backdrop of greenery of trees & plants around the resort. This eco-resort is one of nature oriented resort in Bicol Region because of limited usage of water & natural resources, it's also a sort of backpackers style class and you'll found it impressive. The place is like communing with the natures and you will surely create a moment worth posting via social media, so please dont come here if you have no dslr or mobile phone with camera to have your "selfie" done. Cottages & rooms is available in the resort. Reminders to all the guest & visitor during your stay in the resort. Please dispose garbage properly in waste can, Fishing and feeding the fish are not allowed, No picking of fruits and destruction of plants and wildlife & management will not be responsible for lost belongings.

From Sorsogon City Terminal, take a jeepney bound to Matnog or Bulan Port because all of them pass by the town of Irosin. Tell the driver you will drop off to Sitio San Benon, Brgy Monbon. A Dip at Mateo Hot & Cold Spring in Irosin, Sorsogon
From Bulan Port, I proceed at the jeepney terminal going to Irosin, Sorsogon where the hot & cold spring is located. It's a bit out of way but the road going there is more interesting & great scenery because of tall trees, unique nipa hut & wide rice fields. The entrance fee is affordable and I didn't rent a table or cottages since I just came to have a quick dip. There are three pools in the area of resort - cold, lukewarm & hot from the mountains of Bulusan. The heat relaxes muscles, opens pores and the pebbles under the pool press my feet in a relaxing manner. This is one of the reason why I should go to Sorsogon to experience & stress reliever activity. Don't doubt yourself to visit this tourist attraction in Sorsogon. There is so much to do and see here. In addition, I love the place very much surrounded by the forest & big trees which gives it a secluded.

Ticao Island: White Sand Beach of Masbate Province
The island of Ticao in Masbate has its own charm and fascinating undiscovered spots in the Province. This area of Ticao Beach Resort in San Jacinto, Masbate is one of my favorite spot in the island because of its unique beauty, simplicity of living and people are more helpful to the tourist. I have time to unwind, scroll around the long stretch of beach, hanging in a hammock under the coconut trees, chatting to locals and beach bumming with a perfect blue water. I traveled here alone and the place overall was absolutely wonderful & calm vacation. It's definitely not for those looking to party because of its solemnity of the place, very chilled, relaxed out quiet place and great for solo travelling or nor romantic trip with a partner. The cabanas are all right on the beach front and I would highly recommend the place especially for adventurer like me so dont miss to travel Ticao Island in San Jacinto, Masbate. Also they offers diving at the world's best diving spot like Manta Ray Bowl site & nearby reefs. All of their guides are knowledgeable and experienced. Best time to travel during March to May (summertime). Plan your next adventure & book flight in advance.
