Wacky Wacky! Igorot Tribe of Ifugao Province. Did you know that, in Cordillera Region you'll find this indigenous tribes and known as the " Igorot" which is one of the most symbolic icon of the province. When visiting Igugao Province, you could see this peaceful native with their costumes. As we entered the viewing deck of rice terraces, I saw this five Igorot women in the side of the old house. Take your photo with them and greeted you with a big smile. They have a unique traditional clothing. The Ibalois are collectively known as " Igorot". Also I saw a lot of men and women or even kids uses a "moma" as a chewers. Moma is known as beetelnut. I enjoyed and fulfilled my stay here at Ifugao Province. This site is managed by the National Food Authority of Ifugao Provincial Office in Lagawe, Ifugao Province. This place is a peaceful province of Ifugao, you feel the simplicity of life there and experience the friendly environment. From Banaue Rice Terraces Main View Point, about 10-15 minutes travel from the highway. You can hire a tricycle or habal-habal from the town proper of Banaue, cost you about Php 100-200 pesos vice-versa.  It is a wonderful breath-taking rice terraces in Aguain View Point are worth visiting than Banaue Rice Terraces Main View Point. I can advice to anyone that first thing of all, visit this rice terraces of Ifugao before visiting other nearby places. How to Get to Ifugao Province from Manila? We take the aircon bus at Ohayami Bus Terminal in España, Manila beside University of Sto Tomas. Fare going to Banaue to Ifugao is Php 450 pesos per passanger. Walking Around the Rice Terraces of Ifugao

My first impression was so amazing and I'am glad to witness and saw this renowned world heritage site in the Philippines.Towering thousands of feet above the sea level, you can enjoy walking around the small path of the terraces and it was a foggy afternoon. The rain poured down immediate I stepped from the platform and it's became slippery down to the rice terraces. I got my friend's umbrella and continue taking photos all over the place. Hey, it's cool right here! Ifugao as a province is relatively young but I believed to have been constructed 2, 000 years ago. More blog update soon, I am still trying to finish up posting about my travel this month. After viewing the rice terraces, we headed to Bontoc and Sagada in Mountain Province. Explore Banaue Now! I will definitely back to Ifugao soon. Happy Travels Everyone.

Rice Terraces at Aguain View Deck of Ifugao Province

Another great views of the rice terraces in Banaue is located at Aguain View Deck, where the rice terraces view printed at Php 1,000 bill and viewing the deck that take you around for views from a lots of different angles.  We proceed to the viewing deck where we met an Igorot Tribe and took some photos. I was so amazed with the beauty of the rice terraces. We got a chance to have a group picture together with other backpacker going to Sagada in Mountain Province, our last destination for this trip. Among this world heritage site of the Philippines, Aguain Rice Terraces is the most visited site in Cordilleras Region. Amazing World Heritage Site! Right? This is one of the adjectives often used of other foreigner, backpacker, trekker and locals in describing this ancient Philippines wonder. Did you know that, fewer people are left in the province to take care and continue the ancient tradition of sustainable farming. Very sad and some portions of this rice terraces are now suffering from cracks and damage due to weather disaster.

Ifugao Province: Banaue Public Market

Photos in front of Banaue Public Market. Visit their market and buy some fresh fruit, vegetables for an affordable prize.  It is an ordinary day for us, I saw a lot of people inside the market. I don't like the set-up of their market, there is no common comfort room but it is the perfect base for travel to the world famous Banaue Rice Terraces in the poblacion center. We can't able to see Batad, Pine Forest Resort and Banaue Ethnic Village because of lack of time and weather condition (maybe next time til we meet again). The place is walkable and there is more shops and restaurant within the poblacion center. Note: The municipal government here is collecting environmental fees from all foreign and local tourist visiting the town. Check out my post about Touring Around Banaue and Things to do in Banaue. Happy Trip Everyone - Bisayang Manlalakbay.

Welcome to Banaue Tourist Information Center in Ifugao Province

Banue, Ifugao Province. We headed Banaue from España, Manila around 11:00pm at Ohiyama Bus Terminal and we arrived on a cold and rainy morning at Banaue Proper around 7:00am (about 7-8 hours bus ride). It's interesting to see the terraces of Banaue which is known to be the " Eight Wonders of the World" and " UNESCO World Heritage Site". Jane & I roamed around the town proper and look for the Banaue Tourism Information Center, to get some information on how to travel Banaue Rice Terraces to Sagada Mountain Province. She gave us tourist map and referred to the van hire driver which is bound to Sagada Mountain Province. This center aim to provide you with useful information and tips along the road. Everything you need to know about visiting the Banaue Tourist Attraction can be arranged here. They will provide you also a big map at the side of information desk officer. We took some photos inside and outside the information center before heading to Banaue Town Proper.
