Burnham Park Paddle Boating in Baguio City

This lake is located at the heart of the city proper and has a wide open space. You must-try their boating adventure at the man-made lake with a beautiful boat deign like swan, bird, dragon and other animals and sea creature. Rental fee is about  Php 150 - 300 pesos depending on the size and design of the boat that definitely suits your budget. Jane and I thought of doing some paddle boating but it was so hot that we changed our minds. The Burnham Park is most accessible to tourist and most convenient to all locals.   Aside from boating, you can rent a bicycle at the side of the park near the food stalls, it is usually charge you from Php 60-100 pesos per hour.

Garden Exhibit at Burnham Park Baguio City 2013

I really enjoy staying at Baguio City during summer because this is time when flowers blooms around Burnham Park, you will feel the fresh breeze of the air. They have an ongoing exhibit of unique landscape & flower arrangement, organic garden, garden design & selling area for all their buyers. Each flower garden display has its unique design and concept. I enjoyed taking photos of their artworks and landscape. The artworks display in the exhibit were made by wood cavers and has view of duck pond, garden fountain, organic farm and mini-forest. Walking tour is must-try activities during your trip and the view around are truly enticing.  It was an amazing city to live for, well worth the visit and I'm keep going back.

Panagbenga Festival 2013 Float Parade in Baguio City

February is a flower festival month in Baguio, so my friends and I dropped to Baguio City from our trip in Sagada & Banue. It is a sunny day when we arrived at the city proper. Traffic? Yes, sobrang traffic. But the streets are full of visitors and the ambiance was so colorful and festive. The Panagbenga 2013 is fantastic and the float parade showcases the best in floral artistry. It's really more fun in the Baguio City and there are a lots of foreigners were present in this magnificent event.  The highlight of this event are the Baguio's Float Parade & the Street Dance Competition 2013 and it is a month long celebration.

Panagbenga 2013 Photos in Baguio City

There is a lot of reason to choose and explore Baguio City because of the people, foods, colorful festival, tourist attraction, cultures & pasalubong as well. Jane and I enjoyed the colorful festival, street dance competition and the famous Session Road is blooming - literally! hahaha. This year's event is more successful than last year because it's well-organized, signage & advisory regarding traffic route. We went to the Athletic Bowl and witness the colorful floats, decoration from different participants and companies which is the city known as the home of abounding flower depots and cultural tradition in the Philippines. I took a lot of photos and video all over the place, I didn't expect how crowded the area but I really like about the event is how creative the Filipinos are. Did you that Panagbenga is a Kankanaey word that means " blossoming of flowers" Next post is roaming around Burnham Park & Do-it-yourself travel day tour.

How to get to Monasterio De Tarlac in San Jose

Going to Monasterio De Tarlac or How to commute & direction to Monasterio De Tarlac in Barangay Lubigan San Jose, Tarlac:

For Typical Commuters: If you're going from Metro Manila, take a bus bound to Tarlac or Pangasinan via NLEX & SCTEX and exit at Hacienda Luisita then turn right at MacArthur Highway going to the city proper. Turn left at the road junction right after SM City Tarlac. Note: there's a McDonald's at right and Mercury Drug in front). From there when you see another McDonald's, make a left from the highway. You can ride a jeepney going to Lubigan for non-vehicle. Follow the road and always make sure to check signage along the way and just choose to turn right whenever you see a Y-intersection. After crossing the bridge above the Tarlac River, prepare to make a left turn at the next intersection. Following the Barangay Lubigan in San Jose. From there ask the Barangay Captain to refer you a vehicle going up to the monastery. There will the road signs leading you to the Monasterio De Tarlac, it's easy driving from there on. Happy Trip!

Roaming around Monasterio De Tarlac & Castle

The area is filled with trees, flowers and other ornamental. Served as the home of the Servants of the Risen Christ Monastic Community and pilgrims as well. A perfect place to acquire of mind, happiness, feel God's presence and feel to be the top of the world. I saw different structures of houses in the area, mountain ranges, rice fields and plantation. Kuya Bert, advised me that this place is the center of Tarlac & Zambales province, on my left is Tarlac Province and the other one is Zambales Province. You can create your own choices doing some activities like meditate, pray, hike, food trip, relax and taking a lot of photos. Complete Location: Mount Resurrection, Eco-Park & Tourism, Barangay Lubigan (San Jose Eco-Park), San Jose Tarlac.

Tarlac: Church of the Risen Christ in Monasterio De Tarlac

After visiting the big statue near the hill, I immediately went to their church and take some photos. That time, there are many people inside the church because they are celebrating the feast of Holy Cross, twice a year. Every 30th of January and 14th of September. Most people visit the shrine are devotees and pilgrims of the church. These monastery can only be reached by private vehicle because of its secluded and hilly location like the road in Baguio City, Benguet. There a lot of foods stand during my first visit and they have a lot of tables and picnic areas to enjoy all day long. I had experienced the most solemn and heartfelt within the area of the church. I feel the presence of the lord in these mountain hill. It's already 4:00 pm that time and need to hurry up in order me to find last trip of the public jeepney going back to Tarlac City proper. Check out soon on how I get there via public transportation. Thanks -Bisayang Manlalakbay around the Philippines.

Enriching Monasterio De Tarlac in San Jose Tarlac

The Monasterio De Tarlac and this eco-tourism park is located at Barangay Lubigan, San Jose Tarlac. The church is currently holds the only one relic or authentic fragment of the Holy Cross is kept. It's one of the reason why people visit the shrine. Going there is not so easy because you need to bring your own vehicle and there is no public transportation going up to the monastery. That time, I rented a habal-habal cost about P100 pesos for 2 way per person. Thanks to Miss Grace of the Barangay Secretary, Lubigan Barangay Hall for accommodating and facilitate me to recommend Kuya Bert (Driver). You will seeing zigzag road, tall trees and cold wind breeze. So finally, saw a 30 foot statue of the Risen Christ which is remind me of Brazil's Christ the Redeemer stands at the edge of a hill. I took so many photos and roamed around the area. This is located at the top of the mountain. Everyday the church is celebrates solemn masses and open to public. You won't get lost as you will be seeing marker indicating Eco-Tourism Park and going to Monasterio De Tarlac.

Isdaan Floating Resto in Gerona Tarlac - The Half to the North

It was a solo backpacking trip up north when finally made my footstep at the place called "ISDAAN FLOATING RESTO-FUN PARK" and was conceptualized by the owners of Barrio Fiesta. I would expect Filipino foods to be served at their pavilion, then ordered my lunch meal before going to Monasterio De Tarlac about 30-45 minutes away from the city. There are a lot of food selection at their menu board but I picked lechon kawali platter (binalot sa dahon) with mango juice and the food is great and tasty as well. Big Statues & Sculptures at Isdaan, Gerona Tarlac

It's about 30 minutes away from Tarlac City, you can reach this resto-fun park in Gerona Tarlac. Don't miss to check their huge and gigantic statues inside the restaurant. This was a Mayan-inspired statues. Tarlac: Tacsiyapo Wall at Isdaan Floating Resto, Gerona

After eating my fully loaded lunch ( busog meal ) at their restaurant, I immediately went to the famous wall in Isadan Floating Resto-Fun Park and that "Tacsiyapo Wall" or Release your Anger ( Ilabas ang sama ng loob). Does anyone need to release anger? hehehe! I saw this line - For effective release of anger. Just shout "Tacsiyapo" before smashing your plates etc... against the wall. You can buy ceramis and glas mugs, wall clock, television, plates in different size, shape and prize. This Tacsiyapo Wall is almost featured and already seen in more than 20-30 tv shows and channel which is encouraging people to try this kind of activity. Given this attraction I was amazed with the big buddhas and big scuptures. Next post : Isdaan Floating Resto-Fun Park, Gerona Tarlac.

Visiting the Tarlac Provincial Capitol

last January 19, 2013 (Saturday).I had a chance to roamed around Tarlac City. It's about 2 hours bus ride from Manila and you will surely enjoy this province and discover the rich cultures & people hospitality. From the bus terminal I rode a tricycle bound to Maria Christina Park which is the capitol building located. Tarlac City is the capital of the province. Another place that I want to visit is Tarlac City Museum, just in front of the park but the museum is normally opens from Monday to Friday only. Did you know that Tarlac Provincial Capitol Building is shown on the lower back  portion of the Old Philippine 500 peso bill that features former Senator Benigno Aquino Jr which is the native Tarlaqueño. These capitol building is painted with yellow color. Please see below are the photos in front of the capitol during my trip last month.

After a quick lunch at the ground floor, I decided to check out their art galley museum which is located at 2nd floor of the restaurant. Leading to the gallery, I saw a lot of paintings and photograph along the stairway. This old house turned into an art museum and restaurant as well which is filled of artwork, antique furniture, and other display. There are paintings of different sizes or themes, wooden sculptures of animals, people and even furniture that looked real and old. But the most fascinating of all there is to see a lot of Higantes mosaic and artwork inside the restaurant in different size, color and theme. Balaw Balaw Specialty Restaurant in Angono Rizal

Approaching the Balaw Balaw Specialty Restaurant in Angono Rizal , it's about few meters away from Nemiranda Art House Cafe. They serve tasty exotic food in a relaxing and artistic environment but it is too much expensive as a travel blogger. This was owned by the late Perdigon Vocalan and offers a lot of exotic cuisine. His paintings and carvings are showcased in the gallery behind the restaurant. I was heard the place before from the TV program like Kay Susan Tayo, Best Men, Matanglawin and other TV network as well. It serves dishes not usually served in other regular restaurants. This restaurant is an accredited member of Philippine Convention & Visitors Corporation as well as Department of Tourism.

Nemiranda Arthouse & Atelier Musuem Cafe in Angono Rizal

From San Clemente Church, I took a tricyle going to Nemiranda's Arthouse Cafe which is located at Doña Elena Street, Doña Justa Village 1, Brgy San Roque , Angono Rizal about 10-15 minutes away from the highway. In my first look at the place, it's truly a haven of arts design and decors. I saw a lot of paintings, higantes mosaic and  wood sculptures. It's actually a portion of their home converted into a cafe and restaurant. They also served great foods and drinks. It was the most visited gallery art by some foreigner and local tourist as well and been created by current Angono artist Nemesio Miranda Jr which is known as "Nemiranda". Like I said it is owned by a well-renowned artist.  Next stop is the Balaw Balaw Restaurant and Art Gallery is about 2 minutes away from this art house and cafe which is one of the famous in their exotic cuisine in Angono, Rizal. Happy Trip.

Old Church of San Clemente Parish in Angono Rizal

I finally got to visit the town of Angono and I was surprised about their culture, traditions, foods and religious offering to San Clemente which is the image of patron for fishermen, celebrated during November every year and they traditionally add color and fun during the fiesta celebration of Higantes Festival.  Upon entering the church, you'll see this ark " Parokya ni San Clemente". I really like their altar inside the church with gold interior design and the place is quiet more solemn. The church bells is a little bit higher and small.  This town is known to be the "Art Capital of the Philippines and the haven of well known artist, painters and musician. A street near the old church of San Clemente, you'll see this wall paintings of Carlos " Botong " Francisco, a national artist for painting.
