Another thing that makes your visit or vacation at the resort so overwhelming is the warm treatment of their staff. Doll Musuem and Jojo's Christmas Cottage in Kalibo Aklan

Precious Moments Gallery showing early editions of Precious Moments choice items from bisque figurines and dolls. The Precious Moments Gallery is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Other Galleries are currently being developed to add to the many interesting and very educational amenities of Sampaguita Gardens.  onder how come there is anything like this in such a remote town like New Washington. There is even the Italian-styled “Sir Sam’s Ristoranti” which we learned generally serves as the breakfast area for the resort’s guests. But a portion in the area also serves as front desk and business center. A very nice place for both young and old.

Sampaguita Gardens Resort in New Washington, Kalibo Aklan

To ask what else can I see in and around Kalibo since I was about to go heading to Antique that time. I was gladly told of many things, and Sampaguita Gardens was one of them. Sampaguita Gardens was originally owned by an American named Samuel Butcher, the creator of Precious Moments artworks. Mr. Butcher, who owns Precious Moments Park in Carthage, Missouri, put his ideas into action in December 2001 and in June 2003, the resort began commercial operations. There are gardens everywhere. And they’re all well-maintained. Figurines and statues dot the gardens. Two life-sized horses made of bronze by the entrance to what they call the oriental garden are a fantastic photo-op.

Nino & Khisty Dried Fish Stall in Taboan Market, Cebu City

Wow Danggit! The famous dried fish is Danggit. A small and thin fish available as salted or unsalted. I prefer both as both salted and unsalted taste good to me. Taboan Market is a place in Cebu where you can buy sweet delicacies and known in our country as public dried fish haven as pasalubong. I bought dried danggit for only Php300.00 You'll get a lot of dried fish when you buy 1 kilo. Taste good specially when you dipped it to a vinegar with garlic and have a best fried rice - a very tasty breakfast. Aside from dried fish, other Cebu's delicacies can be found there like dried mangoes, otap, chicharon car-car and other delicacies.

Pacific Mall In Mandaue Cebu City

I had quick dinner at Pacific Mall Food Court to try their lechon cebu. The area clean and a lot of people are there to have their meals or merienda as well. I watched singing contest at their Activity Center located at 3rd level of the mall. The Mall is easy accessible by multicab and taxi which bound to the city center of Cebu.

Roaming Around at SM City Cebu

SM Cebu is the 11th biggest mall in the Philippines. After roaming around the city proper, I immediately take a jeepney bound to SM City Cebu. It's my second time to visit the mall but for now I travel solo backpacking. It has a land area of 11.8 hectares and a gross floor area of 268,611, becoming part of the world's 15 largest shopping mall.

Cebu City Hall and Santo Niño Church

Infront of Magellan's Cross you can see the old Cebu City Hall and in the other side is Santo Niño Church where people go every Saturday and Sunday. Which also still retains the original stone texture and natural color. The statue is permanently housed under bulletproof glass at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño in Cebu City. Its feast is celebrated every third Sunday of January.Cebu City is a highly-urbanized city, which makes itself independent from Cebu province.

The Historical Magellan's Cross in Cebu City

My second day in Cebu was a very busy day for me where I roam around mandaue and city proper. One of the most visited place in Cebu is The Magellan's Cross where people got some pictures for souvenir when coming to Cebu which is also known to be "The Queen City of the South" . Old Magellan’s Cross is housed in a small 8 sided polygon chapel next to Basilica Minore del Santo Niño across Cebu City Hall along Magallanes St.  The street was named after the Portuguese explorer Magellan. You can also witness several women selling candles for P 1.00 and P 5.00 each. These women would ask for your name/s, dance in front of Magellan’s cross as they say a prayer for protection and security. This has already been a tradition along with the lighting of candle.

Lapu Lapu Monument in Cebu

Lapu-Lapu Monument is located inside an enclosed park at Punta Engaño on the northern side of Mactan Island, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. Mactan Shrine hosts “Kadaugan sa Mactan”, a re-enactment of the heroic Battle of Mactan every year during the battle’s anniversary.The Lapu-Lapu Monument can also be found inside Mactan Shrine. It is a 20-meter bronze statue of Lapu-Lapu holding a shield in one hand and “kampilan” sword on the other hand.

Where to buy Pasalubong & Souvenir in Cebu City

The Lapu-Lapu Shrine in Punta Engaño, Mactan is said to mark the spot in buying affordable pasalubong items. A travel time of less than 30 minutes from the airport is all it takes for you to reach several pasalubong shops in the plaza adjacent to the Mactan Shrine. There are more items to choose like T-shirts, Keychain, Native Items, Bracelets, Hats, Shorts, Slippers and many more.

Touchdown at Mactan-Cebu International Airport

The airport is the Philippines' second primary gateway after the NAIA airports in Metro Manila. The terminal building incorporates both international and domestic flights with a combined capacity for almost 5 million passengersIt's my second time to visit the Queen City of the South. I remember last time we had fun with my friends ken, vic, cha and vivelyn last December 2010. It was an early flight at NAIA Terminal 3, 4am bound to Cebu City and abu\out 1 hour and 15 minutes. Mactan-Cebu International Airport is one of the major cargo airports in the Visayas and has major international flights nowaday. The airport is nice, clean and easy to access by car, taxi or multicab. If budget is a concern, stay away from those yellow airport taxis. Expect P250 to 350 for your ride to the city center since you have to traverse Lapu Lapu City and Mandaue City to get to Cebu City. If you're heading to Talisay or Danao, then taxi would be an expensive option.

White Moon Bar at Manila Ocean Park

White Moon Bar is called by many as a hidden night-out gem in the heart. We had an event that night so I take some photos and post to my travel travel blog. The perfect spot for enjoying the bay breeze and Manila’s famous sunset while lounging in their comfy sofas. If you like the idea of a 'drink with a view', this is the place for you. Head down there towards sunset, grab a spot on the bar's white leather seats. So the next time you want to escape the city, don’t go too far and just visit WhiteMoon bar. Too bad they’re open only until around midnight. But I guess that’s okay, because I think the perfect time to be there is really during sunset.

Upon reaching Culasi, head to the back of public market or ask the driver to drop you off at Culasi Municipal Hall. and rent a pumpboat or big banca to Malalison Island. The island can be reached after a 20 minute boat ride. The fare is about 50 pesos per person.

Culasi Beach Resort in Antique

It has a great wide beach area in the whole province of Antique because of their blue crystal water, clean pebbled beach and coral reefs. You’ll pass through pretty, quiet, small towns with well-kept plazas, churches and schools.  There will be almost no tourist facilities because this area sees so few tourists.  If you stop at one of the towns to buy snacks the Antiqueños will be happy to see you.  The area is beautiful and very attractive if it will be developed as a big resort and accomodation as well.

Culasi in Antique: Roaming Around The Town

I had more fun in Antique because of the people, culture, simple life, great wide beach and peaceful place to live. According to the 2011 census, it has a population of 32,998 people in 6,396 households. With an area of 228.56 km² Culasi is one of the cities with a smaller urban area.  This pictures is taken at their Municipal Plaza and Culasi Monument located along the highway. The town is not so crowded,  everyone deserves a relaxing side trip.  I personally wanted to relax in a place with a few people.Culasi is politically subdivided into 44 barangays.  It just behind Mt. Madyaas, one of the highest mountain in Antique. Culasi is approximately 90 kilometers from San Jose de Buenavista, the capital town of Antique and 88 kilometers from Kalibo, the capital of Aklan.
