The Oldest Bell Town in the Province of Siquijor

This bell tower is near from Larena Pier (Siquijor Pier) and beside at church of Saint Francis the Assisi and has made up of coral sea stone & corals. Did you know that this bell tower was built in 1891 and it was believed by some locals that it's serve as a watch tower to warn residents of approaching danger & big tides. Along the road from bell tower you will saw the Municipal Hall of the Siquijor leading to their public market & establishment. The habal-habal driver told me that the blocks of cement & stone corals was bound using egg white and considered as a historical symbol in the Province. There has been some slight improvements like the roof but I don't think it looks nice. Also, I think it should be cleaned more without damaging its antiquity.

Coco Grove White Beach Resort & Swimming Pool in Siquijor

I loved Siquijor Island & the most amazing features of the resort is its beach, the garden & the swimming pool area with the overlooking view of the sea. The whole area is huge and the pool are nice and the villa is very pleasant and roomy as well. For me food is a little bit pricey for a solo budget traveler but the taste is above average. The best thing about this resort though is their staff because they are so very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Their resort's garden and coconut trees adorn the compound and has a wide stretch of beach front with good marine life just few meters from the shore. During my trip, the rains pour down which started in the morning but I want to enjoy every single minute in the resort. I like the nipa hut & their reclining bench if you just want to hang out on the beach to read your favorite books  or tablet games and listen to good music in your ipad & mp3 player. The pool area of Coco Grove Beach Resort have the swim up bar was a good place for me.

A Luxury White Beach Sand in Siquijor | Coco Grove Resort

One of the best & well-known pristine white sand in the Island of Siquijor. From my last tourist destination in the Island, I'll make sure to visit this luxury beach resort before heading to Dumaguete City that day and I was amazed about the interior, ceiling and architectural design of their veranda & cottages as well. The view from the beach front is so tempting & very nice place to unwind. I am truly impressed with the lay out of the resort that allowed privacy for all the guests. The staff seemed very nice, friendly, accommodating and the resort & their resort garden are lovely & unique.

I would definitely recommend it to my friends, office mates &  family as well, had I knew how beautiful the place is and one of those upscale resort in the island. Also, they offers diving & island hopping tour to nearby islands and attractions in Siquijor.

Oldest House in Siquijor Island | Cang Isok House of Enrique Villanueva

This old house is located at Barangay Libo in the Town of Enrique Villanueva. When you're coming from Salagdoong Beach Resort, estimated time is around 20-30 minutes away. I was surprise on how this house survive over the years along the coastline of Siquijor Island and built in the 1800's. Nipa hut is little bit destructing due to several typhoon in the past years. I'd also love a wooden house made of Molave which is abundant in the province. This old house must have been one simple and beautiful bahay kubo by the sea. Nowadays Cang-Isok House survives and remains its true beauty & structure standing today. There was no caretaker & owner in the house so I decided to take closer. It's a refreshing feeling that day and I promise to go back there soon.

Unspoiled Beach of Salagdoong Resort in Siquijor

Also, they have swimming pool area but that time this facilities is not functional during my trip. Just like the water in Larena Port, it is clear and clean which is separated by a huge limestone rock where slides and diving platform were installed. They are also making so many improvements with their facilities that it makes it look so commercial already. No worry for the foods and cottages at the beach as you can have it very cheap right in your budget. Some family enjoying the whole day but I need to go back to the port to catch the last trip ferry going back to Dumaguete City. The place is really a bit unspoiled but the beauty of the place is so amazing & I will suggest it to my friends. Happy Trip Everyone - Bisayang Manlalakbay Around the Philippines.

A Scenic View of Salagdoong White Beach Resort in Siquijor

This place is very awesome and I like the clear blue water perfect for a real getaway which owned by the government as per my guide driver but the beach is really inviting. So I immediately grabbed my things and take a quick swim & dive on the water. Also, saw the limestone mountain, white sand cove and coral littered in the beach area. The facilities like restaurant, cottages, comfort room and swimming pool but not functional that time but I think a lot of people would love & enjoy the place every single moment of your stay. There's no entrance fee during my visit and one of the non-touristy beaches in the Philippines, though this is a public beach. It's not crowded and doesn't have a party atmosphere, you can enjoy & relax all the way. From the other side of the mountain cliff is a platform constructed where you can dive or slide on the side.

Overall, a very nice place to unwind and relax from all the bustle of city life or from the busy work environment.  You can also stay for a night there because they provide rooms and tent for you ranging 800 to 1500 depending on number of person per room.

Passing Through Salagdoong Forest in Maria, Siquijor Province

I love the scenery going to the white beach resort of Salagdoong in Maria, Siquijor. I'm riding habal-habal or single motorcycle during the trip and luckily the weather is fine & sunny. The area is consist of different trees like ipil-ipil, coconut, molave & many more which forming like a tunnel shed.  It is a rough road track going to the main beach area. A man made forest is a part of the local government in Siquijor reforestation program which conserving the nature location of the area. Did you know that the name Salagdoong was taken from a bird's nest which is abundant in the town of Maria. I experienced one of the kind adventure!

The Famous Statue of Santa Rita De Casia or Black Magic Mary

I saw this place from my co-blogger and I immediately push through my visit to Siquijor from my Dumaguete Trip. As per my habal - habal driver the statue thought to be a ghost by some tourists because her eyes is so creepy and holds a small human skull and a crucifix. It's enclosed in a glass situated at the right side of the altar. Before it was hidden from the public view because of some attempt to steal the antique statue. After visiting the place we proceed to Salagdoong Beach Resort and continue my solo day-trip to the Island of Fire - Siquijor Province.

Visiting The Santa Maria Church in Siquijor

It is also known as the Church of the Divine Providence in the town of Maria. Around 20-30 minutes travel from Lazi town and seeing the most controversial statue of named as " Black Magic Maria" located in Poblacion, Maria, Siquijor Province. Its entrance looks to be made of old limestone & sea corals which is still looks sturdy however was stained with black due to its old century church was built in 1880. The church is simple yet interesting to explore and made me one of the best church in the country.  There's also a stations of the cross paintings on the wall. What is interesting about my first visit inside the church is the famous Sta Rita De Cascia of Siquijor or Black Magic Maria which holds a small skull of human and a crucifix.

How to Get to Cambugahay Falls in Siquijor

Going to Cambugahay Falls Siquijor:

From Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental take a ferry boat & fast craft. Travel time is 1 hour. Upon arriving to Larena Port in Siquijor you can hire habal-habal or tricyle going to the town of Lazi. From Lazi Town you can divert to a new scenic road that traverses Siquijor through the area. It's about 10-15 minutes travel and it's worth visiting. Passing the main roadside parking area where some locals selling drinks and foods. You need to pay for the entrance fee of Php 30.00 per person. You'll reach the sign board at the side of the road. When you get there, you have to pass 136 steps going down to the main falls and worth the many steps down to get there and some area has muddy surface without stones so be careful going down.

Cambugahay Falls in Siquijor | My Favorite Spot & Attraction

After visiting the impressive Church of Lazi & Old Convent. We proceed to Cambugahay Falls which is one of my favorite spot in the province. From the parking area, I pay for the entrance fee of Php 30.00 per head at the roadside some locals selling cold drinks & foods. There are 135 steps without a guardrail  down to this fast flowing of water in the main area. It is nice to swim and great spot for photography. Also, there are small pools of water where one can set and have a spa type affect as the water rushes pass you. It's so enchanting and just marvel the beauty of the falls which has 3 levels and really fantastic sight. The surroundings are very green and water is plunging down in few stages of the falls.

The only thing that they should install is a safe handle going down & up for senior citizens. Dont miss it when traveling the province of Siquijor because it is really beautiful and you will forget your stress.

St Isidore Church or Lazi Church in Siquijor

This church is a tentative list for the UNESCO World Heritage Site and worth visiting if you're looking for the old churches in our country. There are tall acacia trees shade the street in front of the church. It was cool inside although the temperature outside was pleasant and I saw that has wooden flooring using hardwood and make sure you do the island tour visiting old heritage site or local sighting including their fascinating church on the list of places you visit. I also like the pinkish facade of the church. I took the whole photos image inside where I'm in the second floor of the church. Also the church was built in 1857 and considered as a historical symbols. The walls were originally made of sea corals and put together by egg white shells and this church is very interesting place when visiting the island of Siquijor.

Siquijor Province | Old Lazi Convent

This is the oldest convent in the country which is turned into a museum and school. You'll pass by this structure on your way to the Cambugahay Falls and infront of St Isidore Church which one of the tourist attractions in the town of Lazi. The structure was maintained and stand still after how many years had passed. I feels like I'm going back to history and the interior which are made of wood is great for photos. I just took some photos before heading to Cambugahay Falls. As per habal-habal driver, this place is said to be the largest convent in the Asian Region and the construction of this building was completed in 1891. If that's not really you thing or you're not interested to explore the whole area, you might go right across another old church of Lazi and that is also worth a visit.

Siquijor | Century Old Balete Tree & Fish Spa

This is the 400-year old balete tree at the town of Lazi. I was amazed with the huge tree's roots at least to just how ancient the tree is and at the foot of the tree is a pool filled with small fish which ideal for fish spa in a while. Some local says that you can go swimming if one want but you don't be noisy in the area and just be careful as the pool steps can be a slippery. Nevertheless the trees still looked creepy to me. To the local resident in the area, it was a good area to do their laundry just keep an eye out for the fish swimming in the pool.

Also this place is a gem in the Island of Siquijor, you can relax and enjoy every minute of the time. There is no fee but only a donation box which I think is fair enough and they have to maintain this nature creation it in some way or another.

A Rainy Day at Capilay Cold Spring | San Juan, Siquijor

It was rainy morning when we arrived at the town plaza of San Juan. I immediately take photo before the rain pour down. The spring is consists pf pools with three chambers, the first chamber is the cold spring area where some locals get water to drink , the second chamber is ideal for swimming of locals and the third chamber is the laundry area or the river which found by the road. There is a lot of cottages, sheds and tall trees around the place with a nice green blue water. I also saw some rock formations on the side, plants, flowers and vegetables. Travel Siquijor and all your worries will be swept away.

Refreshing Capilay's Spring Park in San Juan, Siquijor

From the port of Larena, I immediately took a habal-habal going to the south part of Siquijor. Imagine that this place is in front of their municipal hall and at the center of the public plaza. I enjoy fish feeding & relaxing cold water spring from the mountain. Well, it is nice to see a body of nature at the center of town plaza and at least there's no more need to trek or walk long minutes for this and the lake is simply amazing. The place is clean, well-maintained and also it's free - no entrance to be collected and everyone is welcome to plunge into the water. The area have provided with picnic table with chair and enjoy the nature spring.

How to Get to Siquijor from Dumaguete City

Going to Siquijor Island from Dumaguete City

It is easy to get off to Siquijor. I booked my flight from Manila to Dumaguete City (travel time is 1 hour 15 minutes) You may take fast craft vessel or roro via Dumaguete Seaport. A one way boat ride is around Php 136 pesos. Travel time for fat craft is 1 hour and for roro vessel is 1 hour & 30 minutes. From Larena Port in Siquijor, you can hire habl-habal to take you around the island. In my case, manong driver charge me Php 500 for the whole day adventure. Hire a tricycle for a big group and make sure you negotiate the price ranging Php 800 - Php 1500 depending on number of person per tricycle which almost always expensive.

For this trip I choose a whole day tour before going back to Dumaguete City & here's the tourist attraction I should recommended for a solo backpacker like me:Coco Grove Resort, Capilay's Spring Park, Old Balete Tree, St. Francis Church, San Isidore Church, Old Lazi Convent, Cambugahay Falls, Sta Maria Church, Salagdoong Beach & Man-made forest tree, Old Cang-Isok House & Siquijor Church.

Yes Indeed | Welcome to the Mystical Island of Siquijor

The mystical island of Siquijor is really a magical and amazing. A very beautiful and pretty place indeed. This is my part of my bucket-list a long time ago and the island has a lot of stories to tell. This was my first here to be here in  this province and the island offers a lot of things to do like island hopping, snorkeling, caving, trekking, riding a habl-habal, communicate with locals, visit old churches and houses. If your a beach bum like me then you are in the right place.

It is also called the Island of Fire.  There are more interesting places you could visit around Siquijor like Capilay's Spring Park, Old Balete Tree, Lazi Convent & Church, Cambugahay Falls, Salagdoong Beach, Sta Maria Church etc. . . see on my separate blog post. I love Siquijor because of friendly locals, clean place to live, far from crowd of Dumaguete and more adventures & experiences to try.

Hayahay TreeHouse Bar & View Deck in Dumaguete City

One of the best bar in Dumaguete City | I was able to take a short trip here before heading to Siquijor Island for a beach bumming experience. Seafood indulge with a great view of the sea, really nice restaurant quite from down the boulevard through but would definitely recommend. By night, the bar is great, the music, the cheap foods and very accommodating staff. The outdoor setting and tree house view deck is always fun, where you can really relax while eating. I always love to visit this very interesting and inspiring place. Also a good place to hang out with big group of friends. Here's the address: Flores Avenue Piapi, Escano Beach, Dumaguete City. Contact them at (035) 225-3536. Happy Trip Everyone - Bisayang Manlalakbay Around the Philippines.

Sans Rival Bistro in Dumaguete City

A must-try food in Dumaguete City along Rizal Boulevard. The store is located 5-7 minutes away from Siliman University and the sea port. | Definitely worth visiting at least once because they have a nice selection of delicious cakes, drinks, meals and their famous Silvanas at Php 130 per box while everything is extremely cheap are best to bring home (pasalubong) with good service and cafe ambiance inside. The interiors were also very nice with a good view of Rizal Boulevard through their windows and the area is inspired to santorini-greece because  of the blue and white colors. A good place to splurge on your guilty pleasure of eating sweets and tempting your taste buds with delectable desserts. I brought 3 boxes to my family. They wrap it in a foil and manila paper and put it in a box to make sure the dessert will not melt easily. Your trip in Dumaguete City wouldn't be complete without a visit to Sans Rival Bistro alomg Rizal Boulevard. They also have branches in Robinsons Place Dumaguete City, so very accessible indeed. I won't hesitate to recommend this store.

Negros Oriental: Around Siliman University in Dumaguete City

When I hear the word Dumagueten City in Negros Oriental, it basically equates to Siliman University because of the world premier institution and known to be the city of gentle people. A must go to place in Dumaguete City | After visiting the historic museum, I immediately go to their main ground and took photos. You can feel a city of Spanish and American because of the ambiance and architectures inside. Siliman University is maybe the only and oldest protestant university in a largely Catholic country like the Philippines.I also proceeded to Siliman University Church which is just across the street. I wasn't able to tour the entire land area of the university and the ground are nicely kept clean and looks like a great place to study. I like those big acacia trees with wide branches and the lush greens of grass. Not to mention, the old buildings around the place gave me off that mysterious old world and old soul vibe. Thanks Siliman University! Happy Trip Everyone - Bisayang Manlalakbay Around The Philippines.

Anthropology Museum in Siliman University, Dumaguete City

I was able to get inside the museum that day. Upon arriving the main gate of the university, I surrender my ID before entering the museum premises. It is open to the public with a minimal fee of Php 30.00 for local & Php 40.00 for foreign guest and this area is located facing the Roxas Boulevard and into the sea. Their guides are very kind and engaging to the visitors, look like they enjoy what they are doing, story telling and are proud of their province's rich culture and history. Guys, strictly no pictures is allowed on the second floor of the museum. The displays are interesting and give information about old ancient ceramics, old currency, medicinal plants, beautiful historic photos and paintings, weapons used in the past, archaeological findings all over the Philippines and other more old pieces. A must see place in Dumaguete City and you'll end up with lots of stories and history.

Capturing Siliman University in Dumaguete City

One of the most well known landmark in the City of Dumaguete & most visited place of tourist both locals & foreigners. I was able to get inside the museum during my trip and I am happy to visit the place. The museum showcased how was the province of Negros Oriental and the city was before. You'll find artifacts that dated long ago.

Negros Oriental: Robinsons Place Dumaguete

After a morning walk around the city proper, I decided to take a tricycle going to Robinsons Place to have a quick lunch before heading to another part the city. One of the biggest mall in the province of Negros Oriental and total gross floor area of 45,00 square meter. Located at South Road corner Perdices Street, Dumaguete City. Travel time is about 5-10 minutes away from the city center. Fare is Php 10 each. A very nice location and quite similar to other Robinsons Mall Braches like Palawan & Tacloban. Dumaguete City deserves to have this facility.

Negros Oriental: The Old Bell Church in Dumaguete City

This is the largest church in the city located along the road crossing to their public plaza. One of the beautiful spot and landmark along the center of city proper. Did you know that is was build in 1760 and made of coral stones with a pentagon shape bell house structure on topped with a red dome. It was a amazing to see this landmark when you'll visit this place.  There is a lot of places in Dumaguete to be discover & experience food & culture.

Dumaguete City: St Catherine of Alexandria Church

This church is similar with our church name in Mambusao, Capiz celebrated during November 25 every year. The design of the church is influences by an old Spanish Era a way back ago and this is very historical. What I liked most about the church is how the lights brought out the fascinating beauty of the altar. You can sit down there and be deep in your thoughts and prayers. I love the interior design and architectures outside the church. From the entrance, you'll find the statue of St. Catherine of Alexandria and one of the largest church in the city.

A short stroll away from their public market and nearby establishment. Easy to access by public transport like tricycle or jeepney.

Negros Oriental: Dumaguete City Public Plaza

Dumaguete City is known to be " The City of Gentle People". After a quick side trip at the church of St. Catherine Catholic, I immediately cross towards their public plaza. It's great to see such a feature be accessed by everyone in the city and very near from my hotel. The place is covered with tall trees, the whole area is clean and I saw a lot of lamp post over the place. The plaza is used by most locals and government activities during gatherings, fiestas and city affairs. Like the boulevard, this area is full of people in the afternoon having their family bonding, friends get together, kids playing around and even people attending the church mass. You'll see the monument of Dr. Jose Rizal stands in the middle of the plaza. I also visit some of old houses around the plaza.

Negros Oreintal: A Scenic View of Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete City

It has a scenic view of the ocean facing Siquijor Island, the seaport on the left side and this was my first time to travel the Province. Strolling around the place is one of must-do experience in Dumaguete City. Its very accessible for its near downtown. You can breath fresh air, seeing the century old tree along the stretch of the boulevard and just go food tripping during evening.   It's recommended that you visit the place late in the afternoon like 4pm is the best time to sit there and just watch people walking around. There are a lot of interesting restaurants, cafes and shops around the area facing the boulevard. I love the majestic and huge acacia trees which can be seen on the area.

Overall, the whole park was decently clean and grass was manicured and locals were very friendly, accommodating and always smiling.

My Second Time in The Ruins of Bacolod - A Side Trip Experience Before Heading to Dumaguete

The ruins is one of my favorite spot in Negros Occidental and also good venue for weddings & family reunions, considering the effort to reach this place. I made sure to enjoy very minute of my second visit to this place. There is no visitor were around during my early trip visit, so I must say that this is a romantic, quiet & relaxing place to be with. Also, taking photos at the glass table mirror where you can use it to nice reflection effect. They offers free parking at the back. Entrance Fees: For Adults - Php 60.00, Students & Senior Citizens with ID - Php 40.00 & Children (Below 8 years old) - Php 20.00. Did you know that: The ruins is one of the 12 most fascinating ruins in the world, known to be the Taj Mahal of Negros & one of the best and romantic landmarks in the Philippines. I like the fountain and garden infront of the old ruins and whole ground have been maintained by the owner.

Don't forget to bring your fully-charged battery to shot take photo on this fascinating experience of the place. I appreciated the details of the structural design.

Negros Occidental: Other Side of The Ruins in Talisay

I was so captivated with the charm & ambiance of the place. They also have 18 hole mini golf course and big cheese board at the side of the ruins which some guest could try the game and can do it your friends and family new recreational activity. The area is covered with gree-grass & ornamental plants. Well, the whole area is clean & maintained which is really I love the angle of ruins from this side of the park. The beauty of the place was still stunning set in the middle of the sugarcane fields and about 15 minutes away from the highway of Barangay Bata. The best time to go to is about 4:30 in the afternoon to give you time to enjoy the scenery before the sun is about to set.  If your hungry during the our, you can enjoy good foods in their cafe & restaurant right beside the mini golf course area. They also have a cupid & women statue facing the old ruins. This place is worth the visit.

A Museum Inside The Ruins of Talisay, Negros Occidental

A must see-art gallery museum in Talisay, Negros Occidental is the remnants famous ruins in the province owned by Don Mariano L. Lacson, an old mansion. They have a lot of old painting, plates and other memorable pieces by the owner. There is a feeling of old romance and mystery surrounding the place. It will probably awe you when you see it up close and personally. It's the sense of pride you can take from the place and also have a cafe and restaurant inside the ruins that's beside their souvenir shop.  This is my second time to visit the place and I'm so very amazed that the structure still stands after being purposely destroyed during World War II. Although it sits in the middle of a wide sugarcane plantation, it's fairly accessible to people.

The Famous Bacolod Sweets: Calea Pastries & Coffee in Robinsons Bacolod

This is definitely the home for a sweet tooth like me. Being the capital of sugarland, you would expect that the people in Bacolod would know how to make and appreciate good sweets and pastires. So, I take a cab from Bacolod Seaport going to Robinsons Place Bacolod located at Lacson Street, Mandalagan which is the way going to Bacolod-Silay Airport. Upon arriving the store, I immediately ordered chocolate cake the prize is really good and worth it. I also brought Napoles & C2 from the supermarket. There are so many cakes & pastries to choose from that it is a test of discipline to get just one slice. Hahaha! I'm really satisfy my sweet tooth cravings, it is one the best cake shops I have ever tried. Thumbs up indeed! During my visit there are a lot of people in the store, simply because they have the yummiest cakes you will ever get to taste. If you want to dine there, better be there early. People line up just to get a table. The interior design of this branch is very relaxing and is done tastefully with their best seller cakes.

We had meet up at Green Mango Restaurant near the Iloilo City Hall with Paul & Weng and then ordered their famous canton guisado, fried chicken, fish fillet, rice and braso de mercedez for the dessert. The prize range is affordable and service is good. Just visit their place at Zamora Street ( fronting Iloilo City Hall & Plaza Libertad) Iloilo City.So I make sure to get a full tummy before heading to Bacolod City on my 2nd blog anniversary. After a quick lunch with college friends, we take photos in front of Plaza Libertad (formerly Plaza Alfonso) & City Hall. The plaza is clean and beautifully organized. Iloilo International Airport : One of the Best Airport in My 2013 Travels

I also wondered when I first heard of it so I pushed through my booking via Iloilo, in order me to experience this first class facilities which the airport is offers and I am happy that their maintain the good service to the passengers. I think the new airport is definitely way better than the old one. The arrival area is clean and modernized facilities while outside the airport, I have a good view with the green plants and tall trees. About the transportation in Iloilo International Airport? Island Hopping Adventures Continue at Ivisan, Capiz

This trip was so fun, adventures and we were truly able to see the beauty of some nearby islands in the area. One of those are unspoiled beaches, small islands and rock formation. It is situated western part of Panay and approximately 1 hour travel from Roxas City. If you're looking for an awesome weekend beach bumming adventure, this is the place to be with. The water is so clear and a lot of corals around the reef . We enjoyed taking photos in our banca and some of my friends looking forward to our next beach experience soon. Two of the most popular town spots in Capiz with a great view of beaches and islands are Ivisan and Sapian. Take note that there is no life vest, snorkeling gear and diving equipment in the area. After a long day of island hopping, we headed back to the fish port and bought some oyster. This is my highlights of my year 2013 and I explore picturesque islands of my hometown, wander quiet beach, swim and enjoy the sun.

One of the adventures I would love is trekking and along the way beating the rocky and steep trails is a challenge. This is a perfect venue for outdoor enthusiast and travelers like me. Our First Time at Tuwad Island in Ivisan, Capiz

Island Hopping in Ivisan | Capiz. Most people get around by boat because it so much easier for them to travel to different island of Capiz. We were  lucky to have our friend's own banca and they charged us with a minimal fee. The island has a great view of lighthouse in the center, water is so clean and many corals along the reef. You can enjoy snorkeling in a crystal-clear water or even swimming to the reef of island. At the nearby island of Ivisan, there were also a lot of boulders and interesting rock formation and the waves is a little bit strong and continuous crashed onto the island's shores. It had less people compare to other part of the island. This is my unforgettable experience in my hometown province, I was able to explore unique places, island and white beaches.

The Lighthouse of Tuwad Island in Ivisan, Capiz

This lighthouse is newly build by the municipal office of Ivisan. About 20 feet high and painted with white color. This is our first time here and I was amazed about the hidden beauty and unspoiled place like this. Upon arriving at Tuwad Island, we took about 2 minutes walk towards the top portion of the lighthouse. There are a lot of cogon grass and an overlooking view of the ocean. I have noticed this the white sand portion in the island and some of the corals are a live too. It is no surprise that we have a lot of lighthouse and nice view of an unspoiled island in our country. Few tourist ventures or come here because it can access by a motorized banca. We meet locals from Ivisan and Roxas City, they just come here because of the clean environment and a clearer blue-water of the place.

This is Marukol Gamay & Dako Island ( a visayan word which mean "Small & Big") which is one of the great scenic view from Basiao Beach Resort. We took about 5 minutes travel and I was amazed with the rock formation surrounding the island. Did you know that you can walk towards this Island during low tide but it is dangerous for you to take this route because of rocky corals under the water. The water is so clear, trees are surrounded in the area  and corals are too alive. I think it has a great view under the water and I love this little island. Experience the beauty of the Island now and best time during Summer together with your family and friends. Our next destination is Mahabang Pulo & the perfect white sand of Mabaay Island or Martilenos Island.
